This is what 3 looks like!

Mr Alexander Thomas turned 3
We were invited for cake and
ice cream last Saturday.
This is what if is like to be 3
and think you're "Super Wy"
Super Wy has a side-kick
named "Alpha Pig"
He loves them both.
Grandkids are your "do-over" in life.
We are going to watch Alex and Isaac
next Friday night. We have big plans
for Saturday. . . . can't wait.

It's April for pity sake!!!

The sun is out and some
of the snow has "packed down."
This is crazy.
But, lo. . . . it is
Conference Weekend and you
know the old saying:
"The heavens weep when Mormons meet"
So not only did the heavens weep
last night by raining,
the heavens "hardened their heart"
and sent us snow.
Ah, I will try to remember
this in the heat of a July afternoon.

Crocus. . . . .harbinger of Spring!

Hello Spring. I'm feeling invigorated. I'm wanting to dig in the dirt. I wanted to leave work early. I want to go spend money. I made some iced tea yesterday afternoon preparing for today. It's time to put Brutus in the back of the garage, and bring Benny out!! Where's my helmut. Where's the sunscreen. Oh, glorious Spring. Let me sing your praises.

Another change. . . . . .

There is a change on the horizon for my employer.

A merger. . . . of sorts.

Change is hard. I don't like change I fear change. It has been foisted upon me too many times.

I started to work for Mountain Bell

in June of 1976. I thought it would be a

good job until I got married and

had a family and was a full-time mom.

In 1984 I was still working, but a change took

place and the FCC and US Government

broke up the large monopoly that was

"The Telephone Company"

and I started working for USWest.

In 2000 there was a hostile takeover of

USWest by Qwest. The CEO of Qwest,

Mr. Joseph Nacchio, who took a page

from the Enron's of the world and just about

ran Qwest into the ground, but we survived. Today is my last day to work for Qwest.

Tomorrow, April 1, I will be employed

by Centurylink. I will have 35 years in the

telecommunications industry this year.

It has been a real crazy career.

Remember a hard-wired phone?

A landline?

If you are younger than 40 you probably

don't have a landline and why in hell

would you have a hardwired phone.

I miss those days.

Before caller ID, when you could

prank call someone, that was real harassment.

It was fun!!

I miss getting in the car and driving to St. George

and knowing that if there

was a car problem, I could

count on the goodness of a passerby

to help me. Because the world was

a nicer and kinder place in general.

I have not embraced the new

modes of communication. I miss the

simpler life. I hate lots of things

that so called progress has brought us.

Cell phones and drivers make me crazy.

Cell phones in grocery lines make me crazy.

Cell phones ringing in church makes me crazy.

Cell phone commercials make me crazy.

I hate cell phones.

I loathe twitter.

I despise facebook.

I shudder to think that e-mail could try to

replace a real piece of paper

posted and arriving at your home,

with a hand-written note from

an acquaintance or loved one.

That little rant said. The "phone company"

has been very good to me. It has provided

a paycheck for me every other week - without fail!!

I think I only have 15 more years and

I can retire. I wonder what the

name of the company will be

then!

Loved, loved, loved it!!

Harmony and I had plans to see a matinee at the Grand Theater. There was a change
for their production (the actress was in the hospital . . . . I thought
they had understudies for that sort of thing)
Any-hoo, we headed to the Century Theaters. We decided on
The Kings Speech.
It was fabulous.
If you've taken the stand to not see R rated movies.
I'm sorry for you because you will miss a great film.
This was an amazing story, and Colin Firth is my new
favorite actor. Love him!!

Just as a note:
I just read a book called
"Freakin Fabulous"
it is by Clinton Kelly
he is the gentleman from the
A&E "What not to Wear"
It is such a fun
book.
I highly recommend it
for a fun, light read.

PREP WORK. . . . .

Well, well well, I pulled this bad boy out from his hiding place this morning. I mounted him, as if there was no such thing as "fear" in my life. I'm afraid, very afraid. By ignoring this guy, I put myself in a bad situation. It's March. . . . . Spring and capris are just around the corner. What have I been thinking all winter?

I rumaged around and found this "fake tan in a tube" and smeared it on my all-too full calves and arms, and face. Tan cellulite less offensive that white cellulite.

I'm waiting for this little guy to be brave enough to go into the 50's and 60's.

Ah. . . . . . Summer.

I'm waiting.

I'm working on my tan.

I'm going to try to be "less" of a person.

I'm pulling out my capris.

I'm looking for green shoots to show

themselves thru the snow!
