Blooms my way

These are my current blooms.  It's dark, but they were so gorgeous I insisted Boyd take a picture, I wanted to let you
see how huge the amarylis bloom
is compared to my big ole' head!
I have to have something blooming or it's hardly worth getting out of bed
and facing the world.

Can you see the size of the bulb, it was an......investment.
I had to tell myself that when she
was "In All Her Glory" it would be
worth it.  She is
I will be reading up and making sure she lives
to bloom another season!!
Just look at her!
She's no shrinking violet. . . . ha
She can hold her own in any room.

But by golly, this one is something else.
Thank you for letting me indulge my love for
every blooming thing.

A Grumpy and his Girl........
She's so Soph-A-Licious
You would almost think there is a genetic
link between these two because of their
eye color. Maybe loving a baby a whole bunch
makes it so.

$HIT $TORM

Who knew changes at work
could create just such storm.
I'm pretty miserable,
I'm praying for January to be
over, possibly sunnier skies in
February.

Quiet.........

We took Ellie to beginners dog training.
She barked (actually bayed. . . .very loud)
She barked some more. . . .
Then continued.... with each dog that entered the room.
Her socialization skills are "aggressive".
She's happy, flappy (ears) goofy, and almost to the
point of peeing on the floor (sometimes she does,
this night she didn't)
But her exuberance was so much that the trainer
brought over a spray bottle of "Wonder Juice".
A squirt in her mouth and the word "quiet" so did the trick.
She had to have it repeated several times.
By the end of the evening she was barely whimpering,
sometimes we only had to reach for the spray bottle.
There was a note on the bottle: "Do not spray in dog's eyes"
But Harmony managed to have it hit Ellies' teeth,
and splash into her own eyes - ouch!
The "Wonder Juice" you ask?
50% water 50% Apple Cider Vinegar.

I thought "cupcake" died in the 80's
Ummm. . . . looks good.

So pretty .. . . . . . . .

downright scrumptious. . . . . .

I don't have anything against the cupcake.
I've eaten more than my share over the years.
They've had a genuine up-rising in popularity
for the last couple of years. They are everywhere
in all their decorated glory.

Cupcake only becomes a problem when you are
called "cupcake". Not once, not twice but at least
(3) times in the presence of others. This was by a
(I hesitate to use the word gentleman, because it would
indicate he had manners and good taste) so I will say
a man who is at our work complex doing some hands-on
training for some new programs and processes.
Needless to say no 54 year old woman
wants to be called "Cupcake" It's insulting!

The Last Supper........
The Lloyd brothers on New Years Eve Eve
Eyeing the last piece of pizza at The Pie on N.Y Eve eve
Me and sweet cheeks. . . . . . our last picture together for the year.  This was at Stone Cold on New Years Eve-Eve.
For the 1st time in. . . . . .like forever
Me and my hunka-hunka-burnin' love were all by ourselves
on New Years Eve.  This was our last Friday Night Supper with
the Lloyds for the year, we did it on New Year's Eve Eve at The Pie Pizzaria,
it's like a heart attack on a platter. . . . . . . pounds of melted cheese, on a
Cheese pull-apart and then on the Pizza. . . .  .bring on the cardiac.  How many times
can I say New Years Eve Eve?

January life. . . .

Posted by Picasa
It snowed on Saturday. These are blooming in the window. I tried something other than paper whites. Technically they are paper whites, but they are yellow and don't stink like the white paper whites do. (A girl at the nursery where I purchased the bulbs used to work in a retirement center and she said that the white paper whites smell like old man pee) I also fertilize my geraniums within an inch of their lives. (They are doing a bit poorly since they have a bad case of aphids)

I also have a couple of lovely amaryllis that are going gang-busters. Yeah for me. I might do bodily harm to myself if it were not for a bloom here and there in the winter.

Pig Love. . . . . .
I'm in love with a pig.  Not the kind of love that is here today and gone tomorrow.  The real lasting kind of love.  The love that you think about in the afternoon. . . . . when your tummy is growling and you think to yourself: "Self........you need some pig lovin'!"
My pig lovin' tonight came in the form of Rib Tips. . . . .ummmmm, so good, so chewy, so juicy all slathered with sauce, so lick your fingers and say to yourself: "Self, what do people do when they don't have the chance in life to have some pig love?"

Boyd and I met Travis, Sophie and a boy who looked alot like my grandson Isaac, but his behavior was so "not Isaac" that I called him "Mr." and I said to him:  "I don't know who you are, but you better have my Isaac back on Sunday."  I'm thinking that this mere shadow of my Isaac was tired after a long fun Christmas holiday and his first week back at school.
(He ordered dessert and ate the entire thing, which made me think that it was Isaac after all.)
Mandi and Alex were on a "date" while we indulged in our Friday night of "Pig Love".

Sweet S-S-Sophie
Posted by Picasa

Not sure if I mentioned this. . . . . the sniff of a new baby is indescribably delicious. I sat and held Miss Sophie this afternoon - this is actually a picture on Christmas Day because I didn't pull out my camera-but she hasn't changed too much in a week, other than maybe her cheeks have filled out a bit more, if that is possible! She is scrum-diddle-umptious! She giggles with that big goofy toothless mouth, and her eyes twinkle and she has a grunt that you can feel it start in her tummy!!  I'm goo-goo-ga-ga for her.

Day 1 down of 2012.  It was a splendid day.  Sunshine and blue skies, who would have thought that we could have Spring-like weather on January 1.  It needs to snow.  First because we haven't had much this season and I love looking at it.  Second, I want to be able to water my lawn this summer and if there isn't snow in the mountains in winter, the water sitch is bleak in summer.
