Pit Stop

This is a pit-stop we made someplace in New Mexico.
It had a wooden Indian.
It had a wooden Cowboy.(not pictured)
It had a restroom. (also not pictured)
It had a sign that acknowledged aliens. (so not pictured)
It had a birds nest above the door. (once again not pictured)
It had fudge. (see sign)

The place had a funky smell.
I'm sure it was the sweaty travelers
stopping for the
facilities that caused that.
That and the big oscillating fan
by the restroom door!

Fudge was the real reason for the stop.
Chocolate Rum Raisin.
Enough said.

Enough to projectile over a 5 foot rug!
Enough for a large man to slip on in the process of trying to run and help clean it up!
The volume is amazing!
More than 4 towels to clean it up!

So sad.
It should be against the laws of nature for a little one to be that sick.
When I’m in charge of the Universe I will address that.

I forgot to mention that Milo was Vomit-ee all day on Tuesday.
Viv was the piece-de-resistance.
There’s still Hannah, who seems to have come thru unscathed.
There’s still a 1300 mile drive home.
I hope that this bug is gone by Sunday.
That's when the Taylor tots leave.
That's when I start to cry.

Surprise.
Surprises come in many forms.
In the mail.
On the phone.
Sometimes it's an appliance - my dryer this weekend,
we sucked 20+ years from my old dryer.
In can happen in your pants (the worst kind of surprise)
In the Doctor's office.
At the bottom of your purse.
At your front door.
When you least suspect it.
Sometimes begging forgiveness
is necessary after a surprise.

2 more hot-travel-tips!!

1- Avoid the Denver Airport at all costs in your travel plans. They close that baby if 3 drops of rain fall or if someone farts and they think it’s a breeze. My flights have been "lengthened" 3 different times in (2) years because of Denver "airport closings".
2- Never check your “carry-on” bags even if your carrier insists on a “full flight”, "We’ll check it at no cost to you (they mean dollars and not time and frustration) and your bag will arrive at it’s “end destination” (eventually).

There is a lot to this story, including the stinky-est man I've every smelled sitting in front of me and my stomach actually doing dry-heaves! The passenger to my right taking up lots of my leg-room with his "spread-leg" stance . . . . or sit . . . . . or whatever.

the miles (1337 miles)
and the hours (22 hr 51 min)
of our road trip.
I'm coming equipped with:
A 5 lb. bag of swedish fish,
Some red-vines,
A borrowed Leapster,
13 "Toy Story 3" action figures,
A GPS (Isaac's - named LUCY)
A pack of gum,
My "sparkling wit"
And a wad of cash (thanks Grumpy)
for anything we need to
purchase along the way.
