hooky. . . . .
This is what playing hooky from work looks like.
Happy faces all around.
Well, mine looks happier
but I'm sure happiness was found
in my friend Val.
This was after a scone
the size of your head
smothered with butter
and raspberry jam.
This happens each 1st
Friday in September.
Also known as Swiss Days.
This is when we ride up the
canyon to the lovely town of Midway.
We wander the stalls looking
for something that we cannot live without.
You cannot see them in
this picture, but our
feet are doing the "happy dance"
They know that they are
headed to Shirodhara Day Spa
for the ultimate pedicure.
Yeah.
Actually we made our way to
Tai Pan and lunch before our
delicious feet pampering.
It was close to a perfect day.

It's a green thing

I purchased (2) of these wicker chairs
at a garage sale about 15 years ago.
They were well beyond their
prime.
I took them home and painted them.
Then a few years passed.
They looked old again.
Then I painted them again.

Fast forward a few years.
They looked old. . . . . again.
They've been in seclusion
in Boyd's shed for
the last 2-3 years.
I rescued them from
certain apathy and boredom.
I purchased some spray paint,
and voila. . . . .I have two cute
chairs.
Boyd wanted to throw
them away.
He doesn't understand
recycle, reuse, re-purpose.

Pesto and Sauce. . . . . . . .
A couple of months ago Isaac and I planted some Basil. . . . . . .

And some Oregano. He wrote on the containers
the names of the plant. Each Sunday we would go
out an check their growth.

Last Sunday we picked basil leaves to dry.

All these leaves dried fit into this jar.
When Isaac comes tomorrow he can
take the jar home for his mom to use
in her sauce.

Now I need to make some pesto
to freeze with the rest.
I wish everything was as easy as
these to grow!

Must haves. . . . .

This is something I DON'T' have but want

This is something I DO have.
I love her.
I know I've sung her praises - alot.
I rode her today to work.
It was a perfect morning when I left.
It was 53 degrees.
I had to wear a fleece jacket.
Even then, I had a bit of a chill
by the time I reached hell---I mean work.

A bit of helmet hair - who cares.
Who in hell - I mean work - am I wanting to impress.
No one, that's who.
Coming home - no jacket -spectacular.
I think everyone should commute on one of these.
It would be a much better world.
AMEN.
Also, I just come in from watering out back.
It is a perfect evening.
It is a mere 79 degrees.
I didn't even hate pulling weeds.
I swear. . . . . .starting you day off
with a 17-mile ride on something you
absolute LOVE is a great way
to start your day, and leaves you in
a good mood all day.
AMEN.
I mean HALLELUJAH.

Relief (?)

How DE-Lish was the rain last night?
Alex and I went out on
the back lawn and we danced
the ever-populare Rain Dance!
We sang. . . . . .
If all the Raindrops were
lemon drops and gum drops
Oh what a world it would be
I'd stand outside with my mouth
open wide
singing Uh.Uh.Uh.Uh.Uh.Uh.Uh.Uh.Uh.
Isaac didn't want to
dance with us, he was
afraid he might melt (ha)
I was thrilled to see it
was only 54 degrees when I
woke up this morning.
I've really suffered with
the heat this summer. It has
put a damper on my "fun-O-meter"

A couple of things. . . well 3

This little "Bug" will be a "kindergarten Baby born in the gravy"
today (Thursday) I know she's nervous
but I'm sure everything will be ok.
(famous last words)
Have fun Buglie
These (2) boys have been gone for a week
Sunday wasn't the same without them.
I'm always missing a mad game
of Chutes and Ladders,
hurry home!
Be safe.

You know you're old when . . . . .

This is Mr. Boyd.
Boyd is getting ready to go
to a butt-rocker concert
at the Usana Amphitheater.
Notice that on the table
next to him is a bottle
of ibuprofen (he took 800 mg)
And. . . . .
a pair of ear-plugs!!
I told him if he
saw some hot chicks
to take the earplugs
out . . . .
they might look like
hearing-aids and
that would
definitely show his age.
(Because face it,
Boyd doesn't think his
gray hair is a
tip off!)
When he returned
home at 12:45 a.m.
he was tired.
He informed me that there
was a time that he would
have enjoyed it more,
but at this point in his
life he would not
have paid money to see
it. (Boyd didn't actually
buy the tix, he
went with Darrin.
Darrin didn't by the
tix either, his wife
purchased them,and I sure
she didn't want to
go herself, so pawned
them off as a "gift")
