Bad Break
This little guy went from a sore ankle, to a diagnosed "sprain"....
a week later....a small break and a suspicious "mass"...
to surgery and an infectious disease diagnosis,
to a pic line and home health coming in
to change his dressing.......
That light on his toe looks like ET's finger.....too funny.
It was there to monitor his oxygen levels.
He's home healing---yeah!!

Big Weekend.................
Only a 1 year old can pull off these kind of hats.......
so cute when you're little....
Miss Sophie was the big 1 on Friday the 7th.
This is me and The Birthday Girlie
I loved this wall decor.......Mandi took it down after the party,
I would have left it up for weeks it was so cute.
Ummm, cupcakes were Creme Brulee..............
She's giving me the "Stink Eye"
Ooh la la....there was a french theme........
Eiffel Tower and luggage......lots of friends to celebrate with.

The best part of the day.....presents.

This little well not so little 8 year old was baptized on
Saturday September 8th.
I'm so proud of his decision to become a member of  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I was honored to be able to be there.
This face cracks me up......the smile with the big new front teeth, and the dimple and the squinty eyes, it's just so dang cute....

Labor Day....River Run and Chuck-A-Rama

This is Boyd in the front seat next to his awesome brother in law.....Brad, my brother, and more importantly......the husband of the ever-fabulous.......Bev. ( I really really love these two...they are great side-kicks...actually we are the side-kicks, since they do the inviting and we do the tagging along.)
We left Salt lake and drove South.....stopping at a restaurant in Utah County.....the Family Tree is the name.....I didn't take any pictures, but they are famous for their scones......they are huge......about as much dough as a loaf of bread......9" x 16".....it's rather obscene......They were ok, I had a meal they call "The Stimulus" it had some meat (can't remeber what kind) and mashed potatoes, they were real...with lumps and everything.  The stuffing was dense and yummy too......enough about lunch, on to the reason for the trip.

You will notice in the picture below, there is a garden gnome....
has name is "Norm" and he goes everywhere with Brad and Bev.
He has his own companion "Norma" but she is agoraphobic (I think) because she doesn't venture out on the trips B & B invite us on.
(hummmmm, maybe she isn't agoraphobic after all.....maybe it's Boyd and I she has a problem with........hummmmm must consult Bev on this possible touchy subject)

" in the State ParkOur destination was Green River.....we checked into our room."The River Terrace" (ask be  about this Motel) We left there and drove to Dead Horse Point State  Park.  This has to be the "Crown Jewel"
in the State Park system.
I'm not sure how Boyd and have missed visiting this park.  The views are breath-taking. In my opinion this Park is a "must see"
We will go back and visit again. We are so lucky to live where we do.  Utah has so many fabulous places to visit.....sometimes I take the beauty in our "corner of the world" for granted.  Shame on me.
Nut job....Mr. Boyd, and as Bev calls him..The Droid

This is the reason we came......river run.

The lovely Bev and I purchased matching hats.......we looked like "Super-tough-river-running-wenches"...I think.....

There was rain the night before.....so the Green River was the Muddy River
This is what you would call flat water.......good thing we didn't have to row.....we sat back and let the river guide do all the work......................
And I mean.....all the work, she rowed and prepared lunch......that is my kind of river trip. Bev and I mentioned feeling a bit guilty that she was doing everything.  (Boyd and Brad not so much guilt on their part.....that's probably because most men are used to watching women work.....oh the injustice of life................)
This is the end of the river run.....................it was ....... ok........not as fun as the Split Mountain run we did in May.......................do I sound like a river-running freak......good, because the four of us are so totally fearless and awsome.  We are going to do another one next year.....class 4 white water.....We are so "bitchin" when it comes to river running.........hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
We headed for St. George.....(really Washington.....my home-town)  this is a stop on the way
along I-70...........................Ghost Rock................
I just put this picture in to prove that I was really on the trip.
This is Dad and his favorite hat.  We stopped to deliver some birthday presents and go out to eat at his favorite place........(this is where Chuck-A-Rama comes in.)
He struggled opening his card.................he pulled out his trusty pocket knife thinking that
he would need it to get the card open............it's a good thing he has my mom to help out.
How darling are my mom and dad?.........This is what almost 60 years of marraige looks like.
This is Peggi.......Dad's favorite (daddy's girl as he calls her lately) ......the pretty, skinny one...................he informed me of that.
This is how it run down:
Dad:  "Peggi is thinner that you"
and I said................Duh!!!!(like I didn't know, the scales tell me this sad fact, every time I get the courage to step on them.)
He then said, "she's prettier too"
and I had a really snappy come back to that.............Duh! (Like I didn't know that too....I do have a mirror....next to the scales and I hate them both equally)

I like to go home when I'm feeling a bit prideful or think that  maybe I should be nominated for "Woman of the Year" or some other grand award, nothing brings me back to reality like Dad!!

Lately he has taken to calling me the "spoiled" daughter......
fat, ugly and spoiled, what every girl wants to be!

More presents
Dinner at Chuck-A-Rama......this is where Dad likes to go.  ummmmm
Goldie and Vince are all smiles.
Golden give dad the best gift.  It's in that sack, it is a "urgent" button, sort of like the "easy" button in the Staples commercials.  He recorded: "Urgent, Delma, we need to leave......gunsmoke is about to start"  Too funny, if you visit my dad, he's not going to let your visit get in the way of a good Gunsmoke re-run!!
This is my cute nephew Wyatt.......Hannah has a major crush on him (she's 7, and his 2nd cousin, and thinks he is the coolest guy around, when we mention him to her, she blushes and giggles as only 7 year old girls can. )  I think the older girls think he's "all that and a bag of chips"  and giggle around him too.
(I took other pictures, but the light and the windows......argggg......not too good.)
Don and Sandi............

Happy Birthday to Dad......he's 81, and going....I was going to write strong............but I'll just say "81 and going...."  It was a fun trip, with fun people and fun to be with family.
I love you all.

LOOKING....LOOKING.....
I an so in love with Diet Mt. Dew. I'm looking for caffiene free diet Mt. Dew. I called my local Maceys grocery store, only the Maceys in Utah County carry this......why (?) there are people in other counties that want to drink Diet Mt. Dew for supper and still sleep at night.
I did find out that Wally World carries it. I cannot in good conscience spend my hard earned $$ there. Harmony told me she would purchase it for me......same thing, my $$ going into their coffers. Anyone out there finding this at their grocery stores. I've Checked Reams, Smiths and Harmons......no luck. I guess a trip to Lehi is in my future.

It's Great to be Eight...
This guy had a birthday in August...................I'm so very behind in my blogging.  I like to read everyone elses ......and not do my own. So Little Sir Isaac.....although he's not so little,  we should just call him "Sir Isaac" had a big milestone birthday.
He loves the weather and all things weather related.  His Grandma Sharlene (who is an awesome graphic designer along with loads of other talented areas......I sort of hate her) made this incredible book about weather.  She could probably get it printed if there wasn't that nasty business of copyright laws........
I took lots of pictures because it was so incredible.....he will love this for years to come.
I sort of need some help getting pictures into my posts in the right order......he had a "Secret Agent" party with his friends......secret passwords and scavenger hunts....ect.  We use the left over plates.
More of the awesome weather book......I might want one for myself.
Ending with cake and ice cream.......woo-hoo Lttle Eight Year Old Mr. Mr.

Nobody knows the truffles I've seen..............
Ummmmmm…………these are the best truffles to cross my lips.  I have one sitting in a drawer in my desk. Waiting……waiting…….for just the right moment.  These should never be gobbled up, they need to be savored.  A tiny nibble at a time, letting the smooth chocolaty goodness cover your tongue and taste buds. Eyes closing, lips mmmmming and after it’s gone, you realize that you have a new favorite indulgence.  I prefer the almond truffles, but the mint is also good.  There are orange and raspberry flavors.  I purchased a white chocolate one……not my fav…..in fact I didn’t even finish it, I threw most of it away.  I’m to a place in my life (size in particular) that if I’m going to consume some empty calories, they should be worth it……not just something to cram in my pie-hole.

FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY IS MY FAVORITE DAY

Friday………..finally………….why does Friday take so long to roll around and Monday shows up way before I’m ready. This is my week:
Monday at about noon-ish, I’m still at work but I have great plans for when I get home: Ok, I think to myself and make a mental list of what I will do ujpon arriving home: I’ll mop the floors, do a load of laundry, make banana bread out of the over-ripe bananas on the cupboard (this will also get rid of my fruit fly invasion) Grill some chicken for “The Salad” (if you don’t know what “The Salad” is then…..ask. When the dishes are finished (this chore is Boyd’s, I cook he cleans) I will possibly organize the junk drawer.
What actually happens……………I get home, I water the back lawn, I water the plants on the deck….only because it HAS to get done. We scrounge something for supper, and I stumble into the bedroom and read some stupid “light fuff” novel that is on the nightstand, then I stagger into the shower, and crawl into bed and ago to sleep, thinking……..I’ll get a good night’s sleep and tomorrow I’ll really hit it hard when I get home.
Tuesday at about noon-ish, I;m still at work and think that I’ll get done what I had planned for Monday and add a couple of items, then……when I get home, I do what I HAVE to do and tell myself that Saturday will be the day that I get stuff done, and so the week goes.
So, When Saturday gets here I have a long list of things to do (sleeping in is always on the Saturday list) so Saturdays are never as productive and I want. I keep thinking that things will get done in my “retirement years”. Who knows.
