Family Christmas

1st week of December

These lovelies were sitting on my Mom's buffet......

we tried to decide when they were taken.

Circa 1966-ish.......the hair is really something......

something BAD

Boyd and I drove to So. Utah on Wednesday December 4th.

It had snowed the day before and this was left.

It stayed the entire time we were there.....

And was joined by another 6" of the fluffy stuff.

This was taken on Saturday morning......

before the party.

We were shopping for party favors on the

west side of town...on the road to Santa Clara.

I couldn't believe how big and fluffy the flakes were

We had a table displaying Jakity-do-dah-day's

Eagle Scout items.

He didn't want any fan-fare a year ago when he completed

his project, but his Mom thought it would be nice to

have his extended family aware of this accomplishment.

After 2 hours in a party we were welcomed

with 6" on new fallen fluffy snow.....

Where are we again?

So many peeps didn't make it this

year because of this storm..........

This was the drive home......blue sky

sunshine, and nary a cloud in sight.

Post Thanksgiving.........

The day after Thanksgiving............Black Friday,

we headed to have lunch. 

Then to Home Depot for Christmas Lights...

We got the lights strung on the deck just in the nick of time.

This was the Snow on the deck on Dec 3rd.

I was working from home and was

able to watch it fall.

Love the snow and the lights....

Boyd had the lights on the house early this year...

with no nagging from me......

We are heading to St. George tomorrow.........

where we will be met with snow too...

We like it, those peeps don't.

Thanksgiving 2013.......miscellaneous

Sadly, the blooms from my Christmas Cactus are fallen before Thanksgiving. Last year my Christmas Cactus bloomed before Halloween, so we are making progress.....she is getting the memo about where we are on the calendar...hahaha

Pie, pie, pie, pie and a gallete.................

Mr. Isaac determined to run his first 5K, The Turkey Trot that Cottonwood Heights sponsors.   Grumps and I made a poster and headed over to the finish line so we could cheer him on. He crossed the line with a big old grin..........he said "I got a cramp part way thru, I think I didn't drink enough water!"

This little gal should be hired out on Thanksgiving

to be a prep-chef....

she was amazing and so helpful.

This is the big guy out lowering the turkey into the hot oil.

The smell is yummy............grease and turkey.

Yummy....my tummy is growling. This is alot of work to heat up 5 gallons of oil and fry a turkey breast. It takes hours for the oil to cool, so the clean-up isn't complete until the next day. We look at each other every Friday after the big day and say "how much longer can we do this?"

Sweet Disaster............

We have plans for this little corner of our bedroom.

We have plans for 1/2 of a closet in the hallway.

Mr. Mr. was demo-ing today.................be still my heart

Can it be.........will he get it done?

I will be gone for (3) weeks in January,

I'm hoping he surprises me while I'm away

like he did in the Spring !!

I've given many many starts to others over

the years.......and so it goes.

Let the Games Begin

I dug out the bulbs from under the cubby,

where they have been "resting" since last year. 

I have high hopes for these babies.

I sent one of these to Travis, Aimee, Megan and Harmony. 

They are to plant them the day after Thanksgiving and we should have blooms by Christmas. 

Nothing says Holiday like a big ole' amaryllis.......
