It's Great to be Eight...
This guy had a birthday in August...................I'm so very behind in my blogging.  I like to read everyone elses ......and not do my own. So Little Sir Isaac.....although he's not so little,  we should just call him "Sir Isaac" had a big milestone birthday.
He loves the weather and all things weather related.  His Grandma Sharlene (who is an awesome graphic designer along with loads of other talented areas......I sort of hate her) made this incredible book about weather.  She could probably get it printed if there wasn't that nasty business of copyright laws........
I took lots of pictures because it was so incredible.....he will love this for years to come.
I sort of need some help getting pictures into my posts in the right order......he had a "Secret Agent" party with his friends......secret passwords and scavenger hunts....ect.  We use the left over plates.
More of the awesome weather book......I might want one for myself.
Ending with cake and ice cream.......woo-hoo Lttle Eight Year Old Mr. Mr.

Nobody knows the truffles I've seen..............
Ummmmmm…………these are the best truffles to cross my lips.  I have one sitting in a drawer in my desk. Waiting……waiting…….for just the right moment.  These should never be gobbled up, they need to be savored.  A tiny nibble at a time, letting the smooth chocolaty goodness cover your tongue and taste buds. Eyes closing, lips mmmmming and after it’s gone, you realize that you have a new favorite indulgence.  I prefer the almond truffles, but the mint is also good.  There are orange and raspberry flavors.  I purchased a white chocolate one……not my fav…..in fact I didn’t even finish it, I threw most of it away.  I’m to a place in my life (size in particular) that if I’m going to consume some empty calories, they should be worth it……not just something to cram in my pie-hole.

FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY IS MY FAVORITE DAY

Friday………..finally………….why does Friday take so long to roll around and Monday shows up way before I’m ready. This is my week:
Monday at about noon-ish, I’m still at work but I have great plans for when I get home: Ok, I think to myself and make a mental list of what I will do ujpon arriving home: I’ll mop the floors, do a load of laundry, make banana bread out of the over-ripe bananas on the cupboard (this will also get rid of my fruit fly invasion) Grill some chicken for “The Salad” (if you don’t know what “The Salad” is then…..ask. When the dishes are finished (this chore is Boyd’s, I cook he cleans) I will possibly organize the junk drawer.
What actually happens……………I get home, I water the back lawn, I water the plants on the deck….only because it HAS to get done. We scrounge something for supper, and I stumble into the bedroom and read some stupid “light fuff” novel that is on the nightstand, then I stagger into the shower, and crawl into bed and ago to sleep, thinking……..I’ll get a good night’s sleep and tomorrow I’ll really hit it hard when I get home.
Tuesday at about noon-ish, I;m still at work and think that I’ll get done what I had planned for Monday and add a couple of items, then……when I get home, I do what I HAVE to do and tell myself that Saturday will be the day that I get stuff done, and so the week goes.
So, When Saturday gets here I have a long list of things to do (sleeping in is always on the Saturday list) so Saturdays are never as productive and I want. I keep thinking that things will get done in my “retirement years”. Who knows.

Tea Party..........
Crazy Aunt Harmony is the Queen of Tea Parties. We left up the birthday decorations, invited the neighbors and some boy cousins and had ourselves a regular tea. The gents were adorned with swords and the girlies with crowns............
There's nothing quite like a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich to really get the party going.
Oops, these peeps forgot the "Pinky" necessity.......
...................
Milo and Harmony
Lily, this is a girl who knows how to dress for an event....she had lots of finery and we've decided on our next event, we will go to her home and "borrow" some beads and baubles.

Even the dog was invited and on her best behavior.

Happy Birthday Vivvers
This is what you get when you are making birthday decorations at mid-night.......crunch time.  The Lloyd Bros. and the Taylor Tots were in sleeping on the floor in the room next to us......we were cutting and hot-glue gunning, and folding and wrapping and ......and......and....we were a bit rummy by the end.
How fabulous is this birthday-smile........She was born 3 years ago on July 24th.  So we have this huge celebration that we work into her day of honor.
What  says birthday like a parade.  We didn't make it to the Days of 47 Parade in the morning.  We went to the Butlerville Days Parade.  Travis got up early to put out chairs......in the shade.  (He is an awesome son, dad, brother, friend........)
This is the spot Travis scored for us.
I gotta say. Butlerville Days has a real small town feel to it.  We will probably make it our 24th celebration destination......I mean with a name like Butlerville Days, how can you go wrong.
This is a sweet spot, shade and food......
Cute little Bug in her Days of 47 Cowgirl Hat.....bring on the candy floats!
Alex is pondering the mysteries of the universe......candy....or.....bring on the floats candy
Vivvers in her fancy schmancy Days of 47 Cowgirl Hat....waiting for the floats......er......candy ( I discovered the strike thru feature...but I won't use it here-oops....did it again)
Waiting for some candy.

This was a fabity-fab-fab-fabulous parade. There was candy, it was the perfect length (1 hour)there was candy, a few beauty pagent girls, there was candy, a marching band, there was candy, a bunch of local businesses, there was candy, kids dressed up their bikes.......and did I mention the candy.

Then we walked over to the booths, we ate burgers, fries and....
drumroll.......
Da-Ta-Da-Da....
Funnel Cake....................
warm greasy delicious-ness.

Oh, and one last thing.......for all 3 of my readers (including my mom)......Today starts my 5th year of blogging.  I started this sad little mess on July 24, 2008.  Happy Anniversary to RR&SS.

Mo-Tab.....Joy of Song
My mom scored on tix to the Mo-Tab Pioneer Day celebratory concert on Friday Night.  She sent them to me.
I invited (2) of my favorite peeps.......The Handsome Brad and his lovely Wifey....Bev-mo
Brad treated us to Dinner at the Texas De Brazil at City Creek............it was amazing, this is a picture of the flower arrangement above the salad bar. (Bev wanted me to add that this arrangement was fresh flowers, it was absolutely amazing!!! This was no average salad bar, it had every yummy thing you could imagine...........

After you have been seated you to help yourself to an extravagant 50-60 item salad area. Gourmet artisan breads,  fresh buffalo mozzarella, steamed asparagus with strawberry sauce, Brazilian hearts of palm, grilled Portobello mushrooms, Greek olives, shrimp salad, imported Italian salamis, sautéed mushrooms, herbed sweet onions, pork black beans, jasmine rice, spicy surimi sushi, lobster bisque, grilled provolone, a wheel of parmesean cheese the size of a tire,  all this before they start bringing out the grilled meats.....our waiter told us to "pace yourself"  like that was possible with all the yummy-ness.  I would so go back to this place.........especially if someone else is paying!
So, we found our way to the Conference Center, we waited (sweated) our way thru the line, and found our seats were Great.....then we enjoyed the HUGE sound that the Choir is. I loved it, Boyd "tolerated" it. It goes without saying that I will never invite Boyd back to the CC.

Living Planet Aquarium.....lovin it
Grumpy and I we in charge of the Taylor Tots and the Lloyd Brothers on Saturday afternoon, so we stopped at McD for lunch then headed to the Aquarium........it was fun fun fun.
Milo and Alex have a little bro-mance.....it was so cute.
Keeping them together was like herding cats.......can't be done, I was able to have them in the same place for a couple of pictures.

The kids were so good. The biggest problem we had was we told them they could get something from the gift shop........with a $5 dollar price tag.....ahhh it was so hard to make a choice, because as with most gift shops, the prices were extreme.....I finally stood at the check-out line and told them if I didn't have their items by the time I reached the checker, they wouldn't get anything. So, a rubber snake, (2) mood rings, a venus flytrap and (?) can't remember the 5th item.......we were outta there.
