Food Trucks

I know ya'll know that food trucks are

all the rage.  Every city has a slew of

food trucks.  The problem is getting their

route locations so you know when they'll be

near you.

I've forgot to take my frozen yummy Lean Cuisines (gaaaag)

for lunch yesterday and today.  So I

packed my badge, my credit card and

some cash in my trusty coin purse and left

the building.

 

Lucky me......the Better Burger food truck

was across the street.  I went, I ate, I was in love.

I had the regular burger (grass fed beef) with

pepper jack cheese.  It came on a tasty

bready bun.  I had a fresh peach shake.  I

didn't order the fries.......sweet potato, but

they looked delish.

I would recomment Better Burger......it was better.

It was better than 5 guys.

For the love of Four (4)

This summer these two little four-year olds

found a friendship.

They think they're scary......

 At one point Viv licked her little friend on the arm

and told her mom:

"She tastes like chocolate!"

Cutie-pa*tooties.......they make me laugh.

 Not sure there are (2)

cuter 4 year olds around.....

I like to call them both

"Sweet Sauce"

As in....hey Sweet Sauce, come give me a hug.

A Party for my Mouth...

Fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden,  fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar.  This has to be one of my favorite dishes for summer.  I'm thinking some corn on the cob and a bowl of sliced peaches will round out supper tonight. This works into my "meatless Monday's"

Oregon.....Part II

We stayed a couple of nights in Lincoln City,

just a few miles away was the

quaint sleepy little seaside town of Depoe Bay.

I fell in love.

The restaurants

The shopping....

The darling sidewalk art.

These were placed 15' to 20'

apart along the sidewalk.

Boyd was a bit impatient so

I didn't get pictures of

all of them.

They were about the size of a manhole lid.

and decorated with glass bits....

I think this would be a great

summer project with

the grandkids. 

I'm going to put on my thinking

cap........who wouldn't want some

fun garden stones like these?

I know that I might have

to settle for art work that's a

bit.....primative.....

But that won't matter.....

I'd love anything.

Depoe Bay had some

really cute places to shop.

 

I purchased another......

Clock.....so cute............I will post

when it gets hung.

I have a couple of things that I need

to incorporate into/onto the walls.

I love having things that I can look

at and say.......

"I got that when we went to.......(fill in the blank)"

Vacating is my favorite thing to do.

Beach towns are hard to beat.

On the Oregon coast they are nice and cool...

They call them "misty, moisty mornings"  they are cool

and foggy....it was a nippy 52 degrees one morning, we

could see our breath...................*sigh*

That's a good thing for Hot-Flash-Ash!

I headed to the nail salon after work today.

I had a pedicure and put on what I refer to as

"Vegas Nails" it purple polish with glittery stuff on top.

I LOVE them

This is some pictures of miss Sophie last night at her brothers 9th birthday cake and ice cream night.  She loves her cupcakes......in her belly....she's so cute I could just eat her up.  She is almost (2).  So much personality in such a little person.

 

I'm in my birthday crazy-ness

or the marathon of birthdays/parties.

In the next 7 weeks it will be my dad's birthday (he'll be 82), my son's birthday (36),

my son-in-law's birthday (36) 

and (5) grandkid's birthdays.

Hot August Nights

Every year, the 1st week in August the "Biggest Little City in the World"

a.k.a. Reno, Nevada, has a car show.

"Hot August Nights".  We have discussed

going for several years.  This year we would be

passing thru on our way home from vacation, so we

spent (2) nights and looked around to see

what all the hoopla was about.

It was pretty amazing for a car show. 

This is Mr. Mr. in front of a 64 Corvette.........

he drools....

Not sure what this car was......I just really liked it.

There were 5000+ cars in Reno this weekend.

I took Mr. Mr's picture in front of at least 15 Corvettes.

He's a big Vette lover.

This is a 1963 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. 

My Grandma Rokah had a car like this

(aqua and white....not red)

After she passed away Peggi and I

got to drive it.

This is a 1957 Chevy......a very good year......

for cars........and to be born........

my mom drove a care like this.

It was blue-green, and had a 3 on the tree transmission.

I have memories of that car too.  She had a 1966 Chev Impala

after this car......I saw a few of those at the car show but didn't get

a picture.

I'm pretty sure this is not the last

time Mr. Mr. will be at the

Hot August Nights car show in Reno.

(not sure I'll go.....maybe)

This is my hunka hunka burnin' l♥ve and I in the "way back" in the UCMV (ultra cool mini van) we are heading inland to Crater Lake.

Earlier this morning we stopped at the Sea Lion caves....
