It's time. . . . . . .

Yeah, it's Friday
My floors were finished this morning.
The sun is shining.
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm going out to dinner tonight.
My floors were finished this morning.
I get to clean house tomorrow.
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm going to go for a ride on Benny this weekend.
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm smacking my lips thinking of a large glass of sun punch.
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm going to get organized.
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm simplifying my life.
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm getting rid of some items on KSL.com
My floors were finished this morning.
I'm amazed at how the simple things if life really are the best.

New Floors . . . . scratched!

The biggest deepest scratch (above)

The same scratch that was tried to be sanded out.

We've had new walnut floors installed in our home. We had new appliances installed over the weekend. We have new scratches on the floors from the install process. This necessitated the floors being sanded down and re-coated. Which required another *sigh* night in a hotel. (**I have a very interesting side story to that!!**) but I digress. We're hoping to get some $$ back from where we purchased our appliances to cover the cost of re-doing the floors. They still need (2) more coats of protection, hopefully (1) today and (1) tomorrow. Then I will be able to move stuff back and get my life back. This has been a long process.

**my side note. We stayed at a Hampton Inn last Friday night. (while the 1st coat was drying on our floors) This hotel is located in Sandy and has convenient freeway access. (not that you care) So, on Tuesday, when I try to get another room at same Hampton Inn, I wasn't able to get one on-line, so I called their front desk, I'm told there were no rooms available. I think to myself. . . .(self: why?) so I ask the gentleman "What's going on that you have no rooms?" and he states: "We are almost always full on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights." I was stunned. Imagine my surprise at looking for a room in all the other hotels in the same area. . . . . .........all full. I used to look at those Hotels and wonder how they stayed in business. I'm guessing that construction workers and Expo-Mart peeps are the ones staying there. Do any of you know? The long and short of it is we stayed at an La Quinta in Midvale (it was a bit scary!!) But we are alive and well, and I did a thorough search of the room for bed-bugs. (which brings to mind another story about us , Brad, Bev, and a can of raid at a Hampton Inn in Orlando, but that story is for another day! Ask me and I will tell it to you)

This is not a paid advertisement!

Last week Harmony and I were invited
by my son's wife's father's wife (ha)
to a painting party.
She stressed the fact that you didn't
need any kind of painting skills.
So, we trudged. . . actually skipped
to the class.

This is what the classroom looked like in the beginning

This is my own personal canvass
at the start of class.
(did I mention I have no
painting skills?)

Here is my canvass as
I'm starting my
Masterpiece
(based on Van Goghs "Iris's in a Vase")

This is Sharleen, my daughter-in-law's
Step Mother-in-Law.
She has more talent
in her little finger fingernail
than I have in my whole big ole' body
times by a factor of 7

This is my finished
painting. Not much to look
at but so fun to create.
I will be going back to this
place. I think my garage walls
will be known as the:
"Gallery of Fame/Shame"

Here is a picture of all
the participants, proudly (?) holding
their artwork.
The Place is called
"Painting With a Twist"
It started out as Corks and Canvasses
in the South.
This is a franchise and I hope they
do well. The owners are young and
sweet and fun and they have a huge dog
named Sky (Grate Dane)
They do not have a Liquor License yet
but when they get it, I will love going
and watching what is created when people
have lowered their inhibitions and just
paint away!!!
They are located in the strip mall on the
south side of 6400 South across the
street from Fashion Place Mall.
Check them out!!!

Open Letter to my "Floor Guy"

Hey floor Guy,

When I discussed my flooring with you in APRIL, I
informed you that June 6, 2011 was my "drop dead"
date. I HAD to have it completed by then. Well,
I'm having a new refridgerator and dishwasher
installed on Saturday, June 4th. My floors aren't
completed. I've put off the installation 2 times.
I'm a bit "put-off", I've developed a twitch. My
fridge is in the garage. Just count how many times
you open the fridge in the evening. . . .
What to do! What to do!

Better late than not-at-all

UMMMM.......BLT.......ahh......

These bad boys with onions, vinegar and oil.........

These to dry and use later.

I'm heading to Millcreek Nursery

after work. I have pots that need filling.

This dang rain has put me waaaaaaayyyyy behind.

I sitting here thinking about a delicious

toasted BLT, where the bacon is thick and

the tomatoes are coated with salt and pepper,

and the lettuce is crispy and the

miracle whip is slathered on it.

Quick question

Miracle Whip or Mayonaise?

I use both, it depends on what I'm making.

For a BLT the Miracle Whip is

my preferred condiment.

I have to go, I've slobbered on my

blouse and I need to go to the

ladies room to wipe my chin .

I'm weary

I'm tired of the home "fix-up"
I'm tired of not being able to clean (weird huh!)
Why clean, the construction dirt will be back. . . immediately.
I'm tired of my fridge being in the garage.
I'm sick of eating out.
I want my furniture back where it belongs.
I cannot play the piano and I miss it. (go figure)
I miss having a dishwasher.
I want to cook again.
I want Sunday dinners at my home again.
(bless Travis and Mandi, they've hosted us for 6+ weeks)
I want to be able to walk bare footed in my home again.
I want the sun to shine for a few hours a day.
I need to plant my tomatoes.
(is it too late?)
I want my poppies to bloom.
I need to plant some herbs on my deck.
Oh, dear, I think I'm very ungrateful.
I want it to be warm enough to ride Benny.
I want the hose in the front of my home to be usable.
I hope my geraniums that got snowed on yesterday are still alive!
