SINCE SLICED BREAD . . . . .

I gotta say. . . . On-line shopping is the best thing since sliced bread. I went to Macy's yesterday, just to make sure I haven't gotten rusty at browsing the aisles looking for the fabulous. But the "on-line" has so many positives. The best is. . . . .a package left at the front door. Nothing like pulling into the driveway after a grueling day in the "salt mines" and finding a package. It brightens my mood, and puts a lilt in my step (I actually run to the front door). I love the heft of the package. I love that I get to go in and open it up. . . .like it's mine, even though it will most likely be for someone else. I love that I'm smiling as I open it. Ah. . . . . UPS Guy is my new favorite "crush" That's what the brown does for me.

Take Grandparents to Lunch day

This is me and the oldest Lloyd brother. We were in the lavish lunch room at his school. It was take you grandparents to lunch. He informed me that his friend's grandma was 53 years old, it hurt to tell him I was older than that!! He just smiled.

Isaac opted for the chicken nuggets, with tater tots, a roll, some mandarin oranges, a cookie and the always delicious chocolate milk. He informed me that it was 5 cents if you want an extra milk, and he wished he had 90 nickels because he would buy 90 cartons. It made me laugh.

I had the teriyaki rice bowl, you cannot see the meat and rice because it is under the roll, I had chocolate milk too. The had several options for fruit, I picked cantaloupe and a cookie. I ate most if it - yeah for me.

This is a picture of the lunch room, it was wall to wall old peeps.

This school knows what they're doing. They had the book fair today, what grandparent is going to pass up the chance to purchase a book for their grandchild. . . . . not this one. I purchased (2) books on spiders (his new obsession) and a pen shaped like a race car for him, and a pen with a flower on for a girl in his class, I think her name is Anna (?) not sure, I watched in the classroom window as he went back in and presented it to her.........so sweet

OH MY GOODNESS. . . . . .

Wow, today is my 35th year or employment with. . . . .who is it with? I started in June of 1976 for Mountain Bell, but with time off for kids, November is my TOE (time of employment) date. The Mountain Bell gig lasted until 1984, they were fun times. Then a new company (an RBOC-Regional Bell Operating Company) was created when the Bell System was dismantled and I was employed for U S West. That was a good-gig and I had it until 2000. When a hostile takeover from Qwest was perpetrated, it was ugly and there were some bad times, they started to get better. Then a merger with CenturyLink, this year. I have high hopes, but only time will tell. I wish I were richer and I would retire, but . . . . . but I guess I hope to be employed for 8 more years, possibly 11 - ARGGGG. How do you tell someone you've been employed for the same company for 46 years?????

MORE SEATTLE. . . ARE YOU SICK OF THEM

This is a picture before we boarded "The Duck Ride" it was a chilly morning, I had purchased a hooded zip up jacket and that jaunty lime green scarf to try to jazz it up.

I guess Boyd and I are "foodies" not the kind that have any kind of discerning palate, but foodies in the sense we like to eat. This is a grilled salmon dinner I ordered an an Italian restaurant, it had red and green grapes and a balsamic reduction on it. . . . . . .yummy.

Boyd had veal, imagine Boyd ordering veal (joke in my family)

Creme Brulee a fav of Mr. Boyds

I had a chocolate mousse - very dark and yummy.

Mr serious, he won' smile . . . .hardly ever.

Me, the smile of a feeb. . . . . "feeble minded"

Be my mirror. . . .

When I get thru eating, I usually look at Boyd and say "be my mirror, do I have anything on my teeth?" He is usually a good sport, sometimes we just get gross!!

So this is what we did after a lovely meal at the top of the Space Needle.
